Description
Looking for a black leopard on a black night is like looking for a needle in a haystack. But we were successful on five consecutive nights.
This photo was taken with an 85 mm f/1.2 lens under a very dim spotlight, from a distance of about 2.5 meters. The eye-level view adds to the strength of the image.
For many people, the black-and-white version feels more evocative and more mysterious — just like Giza herself, the Black Leopard of Laikipia. With the color stripped away, the viewer is drawn straight into her world and focused on her eyes, her shape, and the texture of her coat.
Taken in Kenya.
