Description
On this night Giza behaved differently than usual. After making a kill, instead of collecting it to take back to her cubs, she remained at the spot and began to feed on the kill. We were about two meters away, surrounded by the night with no one else around, just our vehicle.
I tried to avoid showing the more drastic details, so I positioned the camera at an angle where the grasses in front of her covered the kill. When she lifted her head and looked straight at me, her eyes cut through the darkness — and that’s when I pressed the shutter.
Taken in Kenya.
