Description
Fig the Leopard – an iconic and beautiful female leopard of Olare Motorogi Conservancy (Masai Mara, Kenya). One of the most favorite leopards among wildlife photographers who followed her and her cubs for years and enjoyed her sightings. Her cub Toto (Furaha) inspired National Geographic’s documentary “Jade Eyed Leopard”, featuring Fig as well.
In March 2022 very sad news reached wildlife community – Fig was killed in a fight with a lion. My Masai friend told me she was pregnant, which makes her loss even more heart-breaking. Many will miss her but she will stay alive in our memories and the pictures taken by those lucky photographers who had an opportunity to enjoy the beauty of this magnificent leopard.
