Description
We spent some time with this lioness as she moved around the rock formation. She created a variety of photographic opportunities – different poses, angles and focal lengths, from wide views of the kopjes to tighter portraits.
The whole scene lay in the shade of a massive tree canopy. That afternoon was mostly rainy with heavy, dramatic skies, but every now and then the sun peeked through the clouds. For a brief moment, a shaft of light broke through a gap in the canopy and illuminated the lioness while the rocks and grass around her stayed in shade. See also a B&W conversion.
Taken in Tanzania.
