Description
Giza was an extremely efficient and successful hunter. When we watched her at night, she made a kill, left it, and went after another prey, then came back later to collect them and take them to her cubs. Unfortunately, we didn’t see the cubs, who were still hiding, although already about eight months old — an age when they would normally no longer be kept hidden by their mother.
To get this photo, we had to maneuver through the grassy, bushy terrain to position ourselves in front of her as she carried her prey. The shot became possible when she stepped into a relatively clear spot, giving me an unobstructed view.
Taken in Kenya.
